The Cal Ice team returned earlier this week from the PAC-8 Playoffs in Cheney, Washington, following a hard-fought postseason run. At the PAC-8 Awards Banquet on February 7th, Head Coach Devin Cox was honored as Coach of the Year, while standout players Aidan Comeau (#80, Goalie), Kodai Mizuno (#9, Forward), and Sean Dolim (#88, Defense) earned First-Team All PAC-8 honors

The California Golden Bears hockey team swept its opponents over Veteran’s Day weekend to improve to a 16-0 overall record, 14-0 in conference. The weekend included two games against Eastern Washington University and two games against Washington State University - all games took place at the EWU student recreation center in Cheney, Wash

The Bears made big moves during the offseason. Not only did they bring in 13 rookies, but also hired a new Head Coach in Devin Cox, who’s been leading the charge to playoffs.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all fall 2020 Golden Bear Ice Hockey activities have been put on hold. All tryouts, games, and practices have been postponed until further notice.

The 2019-2020 Bears were loaded with offensive talent up and down their lineup. Headlined by forwards Delfino Varela (8G, 14A, 18GP) and Gabriel Giammarco (10G, 10A, 16GP), the Bear’s explosive offense propelled them to a record of 14 Wins and 9 Losses overall. Not to outdone, however, were the Bears defensemen. D-men Matt Chorlian (2G, 7A, 22GP) and Jefferey Chen (6G, 6A, 24GP) kept Cal’s blue line solid all season long and kept opponents to 2 or fewer goals 11 games this season.

LAKE TAHOE - After 60 minutes of hard-fought hockey, the Oregon Ducks put a dagger into the California Golden Bears' season, who came home with a second-place trophy in the PAC-8 tournament for the second year in the running.

LAKE TAHOE - The overtime period had just begun, but all 20 California players remained glued to the bench, fatigued from the elevation and uneasy about what may unfold before them.

LAKE TAHOE - The Golden Bears begin the playoffs rolling. California Ice Hockey defeats the University of Washington in their first game of the 2019 PAC-8 playoffs 11-3.

BERKELEY - The California Golden Bears came into this season with hopes of building off last year's successes. After a grueling seven months, they were able to do just that, heading into playoffs with an 18-4 record which is good enough for the 1st seed in the PAC-8 South Division and 20th in the region.
